Using a laptop/Mac/iPad/iPhone/Android device, log in to your Design Space account and make sure you are connected to your Maker or Explore machine. Open the Image library. Type in Bus and you will find the image highlighted below. Select and Insert the image into your canvas.
You can then size your image to its required size. I made mine 6.6” in height. I then ungrouped the 2 parts of the image and selected them both. I then hit the slice tool. I kept the 2 pieces I wanted and deleted the rest. I then changed the colour of one to ensure they both cut on a separate mat, this allows me to cut them in different materials. To change colours in the app version of Design Space you need to select the sync option.
Open the text box. You can filter the fonts to Cricut Fonts only and chose the font – CG Symphony Regular. I wrote my first line of text and then opened a second text box with the same font for the second line of text.
The top line of text is 11” in width and the bottom is 7”in width.
I then selected everything and went to edit and align. On the iOS app I select Align Centre and on my windows Design Space I select Centre Horizontally.
You can then select continue. As always when working with Iron on it is vital that you mirror each of your virtual mats that contain Iron on material.
Select continue. If using a Explore machine, please ensure your dial is set to custom.
Go to browse all materials. I scrolled down to Iron on for each of my mats. Mat 1, I selected, Holographic Sparkle Iron on, Mat 2 is Glitter Iron on and Mat 3 is foil Iron on.
Use a Green mat for your Cricut Iron on and ensure you place the Iron on shiny side down onto the mat. Use the Cricut Fabric Brayer to ensure your material is adhered to the mat.
Use your Cricut Weeding Tools to weed away the excess Iron on vinyl and reveal your cut design.
If you are unsure of what temperature to set your Easy Press or Easy Press 2 at you can go to the Cricut Interactive Easy Press guide. You can choose the iron on you are using as well the material you are pressing onto. The quick Interactive reference guide will then give you detailed instructions.
As always you want to pre heat your base material with your Easy Press for about 5 seconds.
I placed the Foil Iron on first. I pressed at 290 Degrees Fahrenheit for 30 seconds with a gentle pressure. I then turned the cushion cover over and pressed for 15 seconds on the back. Foil Iron on is cold peel so gently wave it to cool it down in just over 1 minute.
I then placed my text, In gold Holographic Iron On, next. Before pressing, because my foil Iron on now has no carrier sheet, I need to place my Cricut heat protectant sheet between my Iron on and Easy Press. If you do not have one a Teflon sheet also works fantastically.
This time I pressed at 285 Degrees Fahrenheit for 30 seconds with a gentle pressure. Again, you want to turn over your material and press from the back for 15 seconds. This iron on is a warm peel so you want to wait about 20 seconds and then gently peel back the carrier sheet.
Finally, I can place my Glitter Iron on layer. This time the temperature is set to 340 Degrees Fahrenheit for 20 seconds. Again, you want to press the back for 15 seconds and wait about 20 seconds before peeling.❤
